The Gabriola Ecumenical Society presented an entertaining and controversial evening, in the form of two, one act plays centering on the drama of our lives.
The first play, “Glass Bottle,” by Elizabeth Gourlay, concerns a visit with two senior women friends and their end of life choices. Issues such as the aging process, separation, the right to die, and caring for the elderly will be illustrated in the play.
The second play, “Moon People,” by Aviva Ravel, presents a startling encounter between a young woman and her birth mother. Questions concerning abortion, single motherhood and the right to track down birth mothers will give food for thought.
A lively discussion followed.
