in 2008-2009, Faith Traditions, Speakers

On Thursday, February 26, 2009  Iolanda Khaze, the Secretary of the Baha’i community of Nanaimo,  spoke to the Ecumenical membership at the Gabriola Commons sharing  her experiences of living her life as a Baha’i . She introduced us to the basic beliefs of this tradition and her reasons for choosing this path. This was a most interesting and informative presentation.

She offered this quotes from Baha’u’llah, the Prophet founder of the Baha’i Faith:

The fundamental purpose animating the Faith of God…is to safeguard the interests and promote the unity of the human race, and to foster the spirit of love and fellowship…the betterment of the world and the tranquility of its peoples

All gathered expressed appreciation, then discussed the similarities between the different traditions as expressed in the above quote.
