Many thanks to Dennis Evans for taking daily pictures of Lama Losang Samten’s sand mandala. It was a beautiful first week, great to see so many people coming through to see the mandala and meet Losang.
Medicine Buddha is one of the most important healing practices in the Buddhist tradition. It outlines the practice for healing oneself and others.
You never really knew what you were going to get when you arrived, but the sacredness of the space was evident as soon as you walked in the door. Losang happily greeted people and answered questions.
Saturday Pandit Tejomaya brought his sitar and chanted the Blue Medicine Buddha chant in the background while Losang worked. Sunday over 40 people showed up for chanting and meditation, and a spontaneous teaching by Losang on the Blue Medicine Buddha. Monday started with a beautiful meditation with chanting at 9:30.
Everyone is welcome to show up during the rest of the mandala creation, which will last until Friday at 4.
There will be a Dispersal ceremony on Sunday June 19th at 1:30, where the particles of the mandala will be scattered into the sea. Everyone is welcome.
