Keeping the tradition alive year after year! (pic from last year)
Since it was impossible to gather in person for the Ecumenical Society Annual Carolling evening, it was decided by the GES Board that we would keep the tradition alive by hosting the event on Zoom.
Over sixty people gathered in their “bubbles” at home in December 2020 and sang carols along with Gary Badke on ukulele, helped out by Henry Ketler. The participants were muted but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Along with the carols we were treated to lovely songs by Leah Hokanson and Hiromi Bradshaw, as well as stories of Christmas in their homelands by Anniken deLisa and Anita Jackel. Amy Block also spoke about the Jewish tradition of Hanukkah.
The evening was concluded with greetings and a little chat by Eric and Sue Bolton in keeping with the tradition of ending the carolling evening at their farm with fellowship and treats. Thank you to Catherine Woodward and Lisa Millard for helping to organize this event.
