Giving Thanks Dinner

The 17th Gabriola Ecumenical Giving Thanks dinner was an amazing success this year. Registration was limited to 50 people, and we reached capacity within 48 hours of being posted on our website! Several founding members of the GES were in attendance, even some who came from Nanaimo!

On October 18th at the Gabriola Golf Club we gathered together to give thanks, of course while abiding by all Covid restrictions. Once again Eric and Sue Boulton (Somerset Farms) donated the turkeys, and members of the GES lovingly stuffed, roasted, carved and presented the main course along with an assortment of side dishes and supplements. This was topped off with all the scrumptious potluck side dishes and desserts brought by our members.

Grace, offered by Shelagh Huston, got us all involved, asking us to raise our hands to the heavens and bringing us mindfully together.

Volunteer entertainers The Mutineers led by Paul Gellman entertained us with song and music. Many of us danced in our seats!

We each contributed to our gratitude chain, identifying what in our lives brings us joy and reminds us about appreciation. Big thanks to all who helped make this an evening to remember!
