Chris Diamond, A laicized Roman Catholic priest, presented a very insightful understanding of Paul’s letter. The theme pragmatically stated as “Christians, get along with each other, maintain the unity practically…” He also gave a broad picture of the early church history before the time of the institutional church. In addition, he shared his personal story of leaving the active priesthood during the turmoil after Vatican council II.

Ecumenical is derived from the Greek word Oikoumene, which means the whole inhabited world; in this sense, the Gabriola Ecumenical Society embraces all expressions of spirituality.
Spiritual connection is a universally human trait, though practices vary around the world and even among individuals of the same belief system. GES has always looked to Unity in Diversity and Spiritual Inclusivity as guideposts in our programming.
