Tejomaya's walk in Silence Pilgrimage

A Walk into Silence

Sacred Island Walks

July 19th to Sept 27, 2015
Sunday mornings
– Rain or Shine
Rollo-McClay Park – Where the  walk will start and end.
8:00 AM – Please arrive in time for a prompt  departure.

The Gabriola Ecumenical Society and Yoga Sadhana Mandir invite you to join  us on Sunday mornings as Pandit Tejomaya leads a meditative walk in silence around Gabriola Island. This three-hour gentle walk draws on the ancient practices of “pilgrimage” as well as the inspiration of Thomas Berry’s ecotheology. Arrangements will be made for those who cannot complete the entire walk so please do not let the length of the walk deter you.

Tejomaya would like to apologize for the potential spiritual scheduling conflict that Sunday mornings presents, but, on the other hand, the more the better.

Introduction to the Walk

Wed July 15,2015
Gabriola Commons 7PM
in the backyard behind the house   Please bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.

Join Pandit Tejomaya for an evening exploring the sacred act of “pilgrimage” as we prepare for a summer-long experience of this ancient and powerful practice right here on Gabriola. Tejomaya had conducted a year long spiritual experiment of walking the entire circumference of Gabriola Island in silence to uncover and discover the sanctity of our island, and what he learned is that one does not need to go to Mecca, or Kailash, or Lourdes to find the Divine!

Whether you will be able to join us on the weekly walks or not, please come share in this exciting evening talk.

All are welcome.
