Book Club – Event is Postponed – Reclaiming the Commons for the Common Good

January 13, 2022

Jan 13, 2022
3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

We had a great discussion this past month about Thich Nhat Hahn’s Zen and the Art of Saving the Planet at our first book club meeting, exploring the importance of meditation and mindfulness while taking action.

Our next book will be Reclaiming the Commons for the Common Good by Heather Menzies. This book is available for sale at Pages Li’l Market.

“An engaging memoir of personal and political discovery, Reclaiming the Commons for the Common Good combines moving reflections on our common heritage with a contemporary call to action, individually and collectively; locally and globally. Readers will be inspired by the book’s vision of reviving the commons ethos of empathy and mutual respect, and energized by her practical suggestions for connecting people and place for the common good.”

Heather Menzies is an award-winning writer and scholar and member of the Order of Canada and lives on Gabriola.”

Happy reading and look forward to seeing you then.

This event is postponed due to covid restrictions.
