We invite you to join us as we welcome Gary Dillon to share “Big Stories” on Sunday, March 19th from 2 to 4 pm at the Net Loft. Gary’s gift of spiritual awareness will highlight another way to encompass our theme of “One truth, many paths”. Here is a taste of what Gary says he will offer:
“This will be an afternoon of hearing and considering some Big Stories—some of them remembered, and some hiding still, almost completely undetected. Given my known practice as a dancer and of Lomilomi (shamanic bodywork) and Ho’oponopono, and my history of living among Hawaiians of the “old school”, the particular draw of this moment are Big Stories from Hawaii as conveyed to me by my Hawaiian hanai family in Molokai. Also, from one line of my own ancestry we might consider the nahuatl story of the appearance of the One now named in the Americas, Our Lady of Guadalupe. My wish would be that these stories will help to awaken distant echoes of forgotten memories closer to that long-lost world inhabited by our ancestors. This may be a good place to begin to wonder on how it all came to be for each one of us in our search for something living and compelling to sustain our spirits in times like these.”
Gary has shared his gifts with members of the Ecumenical Society several times now and it is always a joy to be with him!
