As the tumult  in the world grows louder, threatening to engulf us in chaos and confusion, the cost of isolation, despair and inaction has become truly unsustainable.  Positive examples that inspire and strengthen healing action within ourselves, our extraordinary community, and yes, our sweet little corner of the world, are urgently needed.  The Gabriola Ecumenical Society deeply appreciates the uplifting community energy generated by the many Gabriolans who exemplify ‘spirit in action’ in their everyday lives. We are choosing to amplify their living message:  the antidote to despair is found in demonstrating your unique spiritual insights and contributions via action, here and now. To this end, our 2019-2020 programs are dedicated to providing experiential gatherings that promote “Spirit in Action:  Healing Ourselves, Our Community, Our Earth”.

This is an open invitation to all who resonate with a sense of urgency to move beyond chaos. Let’s gather together at the Net Loft on September 19 for a community potluck dinner, beginning at 5:30, followed by an evening of story, music, and discussion from 7 – 9 p.m.  The evening is not designed to “teach” anyone, but rather to facilitate community connection and amplify the resonance that inspires action in our own lives.  Together we can rise above the tidal wave of global negativity threatening to confuse, divide, and disempower us. We have the power to inspire ourselves and each other to take joyful, positive, healing action — here and now.
